Winter / Spring 2012

Dear Stitchers,

Wow, what a winter, or rather lack therof! I fear we will still have to pay for these wonderful, warm days we are experiencing as I write this. My daffodils are almost ready to bloom... It really is early February, right? (Update: During the hours it has taken me to type this we have gone from temps in the 50's to snow! Poor daffodils...) It will be good stitching weather though! We have lots of classes to offer and some incredible sales to allow you a cost effective way to enhance your stash of stitching supplies.

The last weekend in February we will be attending the Nashville Needlework Market to see the latest and greatest from counted thread and needlepoint designers. This primarily a cash and carry market, meaning we get to bring product home with us as well as placing orders for future delivery. We will check in the stock and get it out on the sales floor as son as possible after getting home, so be watching the new book crates and displays for new products -- we can't wait to see the new stuff either! The yarn market in Columbus will be coming up in June - an exhilarating (but exhausting) trip that we always enjoy. Stay Tuned...

In order to generate some cold, hard cash, to the shop with, and create room to stock the goodies we bring home, we will be having a 'Going to Market Sale!' on Friday, February 17 and Saturday, February 18 our entire inventory will be on sale for 20% off, excluding special orders. Other outstanding bargains offered those two days will be our entire stock of pre-embroidered needlepoint canvas at 50% off and yarn already marked 50% off in our sale corner will be furthered reduced to just $3.00 a ball for these two days only - wow! Don't miss this great opportunity to feed your stash and shop for class supplies.

We are planning a change in our stock of painted canvas needlepoint. from this point we will only carry painted canvases of belts, key chains and Christmas ornaments and stockings. This will allow us to concentrate our time and resources on our most popular categories of needlepoint and offer you more variety and selection in these areas. All other needlepoint, canvases, along with a selection of belt canvases, will be reduced 50% starting on Friday, February 17, and continuing until the stock is depleted.

Our Warm Up America! Group was very busy in 2011 Through the efforts of our faithful Tuesday volunteers, and the donations and knitted/crocheted items contributed by you, our customers, the following items were completed and distributed: assorted size afghans - 352; scarves - 95; hats - 138; shawls - 12; neck warmers - 13; ear warmers - 2 and a pair of slippers! we welcome your continuing participation in this wonderful group, either through active participation, or through donations of yarn or financial resources. The need is so great, and the warm, fuzzy feelings that come from helping others more than repay your efforts. If you want to know more, just ask us. Our Tuesday group will be back from 'winter break' and begin meeting again on Tuesday March 6.
